Gone but will never be forgotten.....

Ch.Hidden Lanes Power Surge CDX,STDs
February 16, 1990 - January 6, 2001

Surge was the light of my life.

He was always willing to try anything I asked of him. He loved conformation and finished easily in both ASCA and AKC. Obedience wasn’t his thing, but he did it to please his mom whom he adored, earning his CDX with high 190 scores. His training had progressed through Utility with exception of scent articles. He always thought it was OK to bring back any one he wanted to rather than sniffing for the right one.

He loved playing with the sheep and earned a STDs without much help from his very inexperienced handler. One Herding Judge made the comment to me, as he handed me the qualifying ribbon, to go and thank my dog because he did it all on his own despite my mistakes. He also had one leg towards a duck title when he retired.

I will always miss him as he owns a great chunk of my heart now and always.

Copper Oaks Silver Cowgirl UD
August 19, 1990 - September 16, 2000

Silver was born August 19, 1990.

She was my sweet, funny little over-achiever. The brightest, most intelligent dog I have ever had the pleasure to train. She sailed through Novice and Open to Utility. I never really had to train her. She just read my mind and jumped ahead, sometimes causing quite a stir at shows. I rarely showed her in Utility that the Judge didn’t laugh at her antics and innovation. Her scores were mostly high 190’s with a few 180’s in Utility.

She loved obedience and always had the expression of “aren’t I wonderful” after each exercise. I’ll never have another obedience dog like her. She was my first dog to train and if she had a more experienced handler she could have been one of the greatest ever.

She also is greatly missed and was a wonderful best friend.

Backwoods Maid For Stardom,CD (Megan)
Sept.30, 1991 - March 21, 2005
There are many wonderful memories of this incredibly sweet, gentle loving soul. She was a "talker", always ready to carry on a conversation or tell you a "story". She was also the best baby sitter you could want. She would mother any & all she came in contact with. She was much loved & greatly missed. Below is an Ode to Megan written by Byron Watson.
Ode to Megan

The story teller
So many times in your life you told the story
Stories of your journeys that lasted for miles
Stories that made everyone around you smile
Stories that lifted us up when we were down
Stories of the good times you passed around
When you stopped telling your stories we knew the
Bridge was calling
No matter how hard we tried we couldn't stop the falling
A hand reached out and gave you wings
Lifting you up above all things
Oh the stories we will share when we're reunited
As our family will once again be undivided
Tell those above the stories of our love for all
For we will see them soon when we are called.

Ch. Echo’s Sky Walker of Copper Oaks CD DNA-CP (Luke)
Nov.13,1998 - Feb. 20, 2006

I have been fortunate enough to have had two wonderful loving "heart" dogs. The first was Surge & the second was his beautiful son Luke.
Luke followed in his sire's footprints to finish his ASCA CH. & CD on the same day just like Surge did. He also finished his AKC Ch. & CD at the same show weekend, just different days. He was my demo dog for my begginers obedience classes & helped many dog & handler teams to keep on training. He would gladly try anything I asked him to if it meant he would be with me.

There is a huge empty hole in Byron & my heart that will always belong to him. We were so lucky to have had such unconditional love & devotion! To say that we will miss him always is such an understatement!

Dale Gannon and Thornapple's Blue Lightning CDX "Blue"
This page was originally planned to honor the memories of our own dogs, but Byron & I knew & loved Blue very much. We both wanted to add her to our Rainbow Bridge page because we will forever miss her too. She wasn't ours, but she still managed to steal her own place in our hearts. As I sit here trying to hold back the tears (unsuccessfully) there are so many wonderful stories that could be told about Blue. She was such a special girl that she just strolled into your heart & claimed her rightful place before you even knew what was happening.
She belonged to our very good friends, Dale & Shannon Gannon & their five year old daughter Madigan. We were privileged to have the care of her & her two "sisters" when the family vacationed. She earned her obedience titles with her partner & best friend Dale. They were awesome to watch because you could see the bond they shared & how happy she was to "work for dad". Together they earned a seventh place in Novice B at the Nationals in Georgia in 2005. She was also a very much loved family companion & was a constant in her own little girls life. She had such vitality & zest for life. Despite the best efforts of two vet's (two surgery's & chemotherapy) Blue was struck down by Hemangiosarcoma the day after her fifth birthday. Everything possible was done to make her last days comfortable & she crossed to the Rainbow Bridge in the arms of her "dad". Her wonderful personality & that irrepressible aussie grin will be so missed by those of us fortunate to know her. Rest in peace sweet girl.

P.J. had an extraordinary sense of humor, such a sweet & funny girl! Her passing has left  huge holes in our hearts. We are comforted by her loving sons & daughters & one grandaughter who seems very much like her.
